Our Radiologist...
Diagnostic ultrasound examinations are supervised and interepreted by our radiologist, Roy Vaid, M.D., Ph.D.  
Dr. Vaid went to medical school at New York Medical College and obtained a Ph.D. in physiology from Oxford University before attending his radiology residency at the University of California, San Francisco. 
At UCSF, Dr. Vaid trained in obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound under the tutelage of many of the leading world experts in the field. These include Dr. Roy Filly, one of the founders of the field of obstetric ultrasound itself, who in the course of his thirty-five years of obstetric ultrasound practice has published over 400 ultrasound-related academic manuscripts, as well as Dr. Peter Callen, author of "Ultrasonography in Obstetrics and Gynecology", one of the primary textbooks of the field which is now in its critically acclaimed fourth edition. 
Dr. Vaid continues to be heavily involved in academic medical research, having published twenty-two first author journal articles and first-author academic meeting presentations, as well as having participated in numerous other co-authored publications and presentations. His numerous academic awards and honors include an NIH Research Award Fellowship, the Oxford University Beaconsfield Prize for outstanding Physiologic Sciences research, the British Overseas Scholarship award, and others.

Northwest Prenatal Ultrasound provides the experience, technology, training, and physician oversight healthcare providers can trust. Our staff technologists have nearly 40 years experience in High Risk Obstetric scanning. We specialize in providing quality medical ultrasounds to those patients whose providers do not offer in-office ultrasounds, or would just like to outsource these services to a quality provider.

Our Elective 3D/4D Prenatal Services…
The same trained and certified technologists who perform our full diagnostic scans, are also proficient in the art of 3D/4D scanning. The bonding that takes place during these amazing services has been studied and proven to have a psycho-social benefit for expectant women, as viewing their ultrasound resulted in numerous benefits from smoking cessation to improved diet. Providers and their patients have come to know and trust us as a facility like no other. Our high medical standards can be found at NO OTHER 3D/4D elective ultrasound center. We are NOT a “keepsake” facility like so many others. Why use 3D/4D scanning? This is a dimension of ultrasound that for the first time ever allows the patient to be able to understand what they are seeing. Our facility is dedicated to providing you and your patients with the very best an ultrasound center has to offer. Is the Healthcare Provider involved?
Most definitely. We verify that every patient is currently under prenatal care. Before an elective limited scan is done, the patient MUST have completed her second trimester diagnostic ultrasound. Then, our highly trained and certified technologists complete the scan for the specified purpose (level one or limited exam). Our Supervising Physician performs the reads for our ultrasounds, and a report is promptly sent back to you, the provider. For our limited medical scan, a report is completed by our technologists and images are mailed to your office for your review.
